About Dr Bayer

Dr. Ashley C. Bayer received her undergraduate Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and completed medical school at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She then completed her pediatric internship in Orlando at Arnold Palmer and Winnie Palmer Hospitals, where over 14,000 babies are born annually. She finished her training with her pediatric residency in Tampa and St. Petersburg at Tampa General Hospital and Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital respectively.

She is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is an Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. She had the honor to serve as the pediatrician for the Seminole Tribe of Florida for the 5 years prior to starting her own practice. When it became time to be a little closer to home, Dr. Bayer found Dr. Day. He was retiring and did not want to transition his life- long practice to a large group for the same reasons that Dr. Bayer did not want to work for a large group. Dr. Bayer took over the practice in January 2017, and hence Palm Pediatrics was born.

As a mother herself, Dr. Bayer's passion is caring for children. She not only enjoys providing on-going care but makes it a point to educate parents and children on the specifics behind the treatments she recommends. As a Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) she provides a comprehensive, educational, well-rounded, and conservative approach to healthcare. After all, the word "doctor," comes from Latin docēre, meaning "to teach." Teaching is one of Dr. Bayer's favorite parts of being a pediatrician.

Having started her collegiate education at the University of Florida, she is a Gator fan through and through. She is married to her college sweet heart and they enjoy spending time with their three young children, Charlie, Amelia and June. Some of her favorite hobbies are spending time with her family, traveling, and soaking up the salt, sun and sand that beautiful South Florida has to offer.

About Dr. Carrion

After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Amanda E. Carrión completed medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She then completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, one of the top pediatric hospital and training programs in the country. Following completion of her training, she was honored with a faculty position as a clinical instructor at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. For the next 4 years, she was tasked with the education and training of both medical students and pediatric residents. The broad scope of her practice included inpatient hospital care, emergency pediatric medicine, sedation medicine, newborn care, and a member of the pediatric flight team.

Wanting to be closer to the rest of her family, Dr. Carrión eventually moved back to South Florida. She transitioned to practicing in general pediatrics at a large and busy group for the following 5 years. Ultimately, good fortune brought her together with Dr. Bayer, along with the perfect opportunity to join Palm Pediatrics.

Dr. Carrión is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is passionate about pediatrics and preventive medicine. She believes that educating families on health and wellness creates a lasting impact on the entire life of the child. Building these long-term relationships with patients and their families fuels Dr. Carrión’s love for pediatrics. She treats every child with warmth and compassion while appreciating the fact that every child and family is unique. Her belief in a combined family-plus-physician team approach ensures complete understanding and agreement upon the care plan.

Originally from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, Dr. Carrión is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. She is married and is the proud mom of two boys - Raúl and Alejandro. Some of her favorite pastimes include healthy cooking, regular exercise, outdoor activities, and spending time her family.

Kathleen Strader, ARNP

Kathleen Strader (better known to us as Katie) is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. After receiving her Bachelors in Science of Nursing at University of Central Florida, she then completed her Masters in the Science of Nursing (ARNP) at Florida Atlantic University.

She has traversed many fields of medicine including but not limited to pulmonary and sleep medicine, asthma, allergy, and immunology, and family practice. Katie and Dr. Bayer worked closely together at the Seminole Tribe of Florida for over 3 years prior to Katie joining the Palm Pediatrics team upon its inception in 2017. Though she enjoyed a variety of fields in medicine, Katie has a true passion for pediatrics. She has a comprehensive and holistic approach to medicine, which shows in her education to families and patients.

In her spare time, she enjoys boating, fishing, outdoor activities and going on adventures with her husband and two young daughters, Alice and Sara Beth.

You'll love our integrative, hands on approach to patient care.
